Who Is Cali Nadeau?

BIO

Hi, I’m Cali Nadeau, a high school volleyball player from New Brunswick, Canada. I actually started off as a competitive tennis player and even represented my province at the 2021 Canada Games.

Here’s a bit more about me:

  • I’m a member of Team New Brunswick and part of the 2025 Canada Games Training Group.
  • I play as a versatile outside hitter with strong ball control and the ability to score points.
  • I’ve been the captain of my teams for the past few years, which has taught me a lot about leadership and working with others.
  • I’m open to playing wherever I can help the team the most, even as a defensive specialist or libero if that’s what’s needed.

Testimonials

Coaching Cali at the Canada Cup this summer was a true privilege. She’s a well-rounded athlete who stands out for her ability to contribute both offensively and defensively, making her a versatile and reliable player on the court. Cali’s skill level, combined with her strong work ethic, makes her more than ready for post-secondary competition. Beyond her athletic talent, she brings an uplifting presence and demonstrates exceptional leadership, always supporting her teammates. Any school would be lucky to have Cali, both for her volleyball talent and the positive energy she brings to the team.

The first time I saw Cali play was her grade 10 year, in our high school league. At that time she was playing for an opposing high school. I would have described her then as exceptionally athletic but very “raw” with respect to volleyball skills. After that season, she transferred to our high school and began to focus exclusively on volleyball (at that time she was one of the top tennis players in the province). By the time her grade 11 high school season started, the change in her skill level was incredible. Just one focused club season and she was the top power hitter in the province. Her quiet intensity and calm demeanour have made her one of the leaders on our team, club, and at the provincial team level. I feel that her time in high level tennis has also provided her a mental toughness that kids who play exclusively team sports never develop.

Her ceiling has yet to be touched. She will be an incredible asset to any post secondary program.

I first met Cali when she attended tryouts for my 18U club team. She was of 17U age and successfully made my 18U team. Cali has a strong presence both on and off the court. She was instrumental in our success at Provincials helping us earn a Division 1 Silver medal. On the court, Cali is one of my strongest passers and my strongest outside attacker. Her serve is powerful and aggressive. She maintains a consistent temperament through matches that translates to consistent and strong performance. Cali always has a positive presence on the court and is a natural leader within the group. She accepts feedback eagerly and applies it very well. Cali is on time to practices and games and communicates well with the coaching staff. She compliments her on court skill by consistently following a strength and conditioning program that has had her increasing her vertical as well as protecting her from nagging injuries. Cali has the mental strength and discipline to thrive in a post-secondary volleyball environment!
